Welcome to Chiron's Cave Holistic Services
I am so glad you have made your way here. I hope my offerings can be of service to you or your loved ones.
Getting started on your counseling journey takes so much courage, and I honor how difficult it is to take that first step. I am so glad you are here. I believe that a good counselor is somebody who has gone through the process of counseling and dove into the depths of self exploration for themselves. As a client of counseling services, who became a counselor, I am aware of the importance of support, compassion, understanding, and unconditional positive regard from a therapist, and I strive to provide that to each of my clients for their individual and unique needs.
Here are some things to know about myself and my practice:
I proudly identify as queer, neuro-divergent, and non-binary.
I am affirming of neuro-divergence. This means I will not be trying to "cure" or "fix" your Autism or ADHD. Instead, I will work with you to identify your strengths, support needs, resiliencies, creative capabilities, as well as work towards deconstructing the harmful messages you have gotten from a society that is built with neuro-typical people in mind. I affirm that you are not broken, or need "fixing". I'm excited to get to know you, just as you are, and find ways to make your life more functional for YOU.
The clients I work with are typically LGBTQIA+ folks, who may be coping with the effects of trauma. Folks who are struggling with generalized or social anxiety, death anxiety, or depression. I also work with young folks with chronic pain or a terminal diagnosis. Many folks I work with are neuro-divergent and have been diagnosed (or not yet diagnosed, but have symptoms) with ADHD or are on the Autism spectrum. I am also a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor I if there are additional needs for support around addiction.
I would be a good fit for those who may like to include holistic or alternative approaches into their therapeutic practices to include spirituality, astrology, tarot, ritual practices, and meditation. I am client centered, meaning I will support your path to healing, whichever path your inner wisdom is calling for. I have training in Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI) and am currently working towards training in Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
I am serving as the 2022 President of the North West Association for Death and Bereavement Services, which is an organization I became involved with because of my passion for working with folks in the tender moments at the end of life.
